Another almost perfect almost full moon night, making dinner for my mother on the veranda, drinking cocktails and tending the pork loin on the grill. Such a night like something from the 1950s, having worked on the house killing varmints and fixing too little of the dilapidation, then taking a walk instead of a run and a trip to the gym. Later, drinking beer too early in the afternoon and working on pictures while listening to a vast music library that always surprises, happy if not content, thinking of all the things I should be doing but doing that instead. Then, after dinner and final aperitifs, mother gone, back to work on pictures. Music. It is late now but I sit and work and listen and drink knowing that outside is the almost perfect night in a string of almost perfect nights. Thinking of you. . . love. . . etc.

Lovely photo, I like it even more than previous photo of this girl.
ReplyDeleteA bit a pity that we don't see more of the background with the amazing patina effect.
That's a trick you say?
Like, lousy paint skills, or good Photoshop skills? :-P
Anyway... Very beautiful photo!

Loved the lament...of course I've always loved laments...sounds like a nice evening, with just a little touch of melancholy...or maybe I'm imagining it.
ReplyDeleteN, You are the only person to comment on this one, so. . . I like it, too, though. And yes, it is all a beautiful trick :)
ReplyDeleteR, I love Melancholia. It is the perfect state.
