Over Exposed

I overdid "it" this Easter weekend, from Good Friday to Easter Sunday.  Too much of everything.  This week will be penance.  Last time I was in Austria (ho--the only time), I stayed at a Schloss for a conference.  They provided us with three meals and two teas each day.  I'm not used to eating five times a day, but I'm certain it is healthier.  I just don't have time to prepare all that.  It was healthy food, even the cookies and cakes, I think. I didn't seem to put on weight.

We just had a group from the Ukraine visit the factory for a week.  They got around and saw much.  Asked of their impressions of America, they said they couldn't believe how clean it was.  Nobody throws stuff in the street.  When I heard that, I thought, "Whoa, you've never been to Austria or Germany."  Talk about clean.  The Ukraine group were knocked out by the jury system (four of the group were Ukraine lawyers).  And lastly--pressed for criticism--they said they couldn't believe that a country as wealthy as America charged students to go to the University.  Everyone who qualifies in the Ukraine, they said, gets to go for free.  Isn't that something!  People who are in favor of education.

Lastly, though, they said they were shocked at how fat Americans were.  "Every day you feed us chips and sodas and junk.  This stuff is not good for you."  And we didn't even supersize them.  Hmm.

Everyone knows the secret diet.  Don't eat processed foods.  Even more, don't eat out of jars or bags or cans.  Nuts are good, but you need to shell them yourself.  You won't eat nearly as many.  And when you are going to have a treat like a cookie--make it from scratch.  Don't buy a pack.  It is simple, really. You will get as skinny as you want to be.

But factory life does not encourage that, so I will have to be vigilant this week.  I am looking like a the fellow on the Moretti beer label which means, I guess, that not all Europeans are slim.  Selah.

The picture I've posted today came from something so terribly overexposed that the figure barely showed at all.  I tweaked it as much as I could to see the wonderful shots I had missed.  There were many.  But I like the effect and feel I can control it if I don't overexpose the image quite as much.  I'll work at it and see.  You'll be the first to know, of course.

  1. It's a fun photo -- she sorta appears like an alien in a B movie.

I'm purifying this week too. Except maybe for the hash brownie I was given yesterday at the Easter party. Made by the husband of someone's aunt who is a scientist from Seattle and came with the warning "do not eat too much at any one time ... these are the real deal." Like an Alice in Wonderland message. Though I'd like to freeze it and eat it when I have less work to do -- can you freeze a hash brownie without harming its powers?

Anyway. Yes. Here's to purification of the temple of our souls.

  2. My purification didn't last long. You need to ask Q about freezing hash. I know you can freeze LSD. Second hand. And the model--she is an alien.
