Change is difficult, but things must change. New routines, new visions. I am tired of the troubles that I have. I will look for new ones. Summer weather has arrived here, that rainy, steamy, pressure cooker kind. Horizons close in the swamps and jungles. It is time for mountains, deserts, and beaches. I will be heading to Santa Fe, NM for a couple weeks shortly. Some of it is for an art workshop. The rest is just me looking at things. Taos. Durango, perhaps. . . Telluride. I will have my house in fair order by then, perhaps, good enough, I hope, to last the sumer. I will get away from women on couches. I must look for crackers and rednecks and miscreant "others." There is a whole world falling apart out there. I can't stay away from it forever.
I saw a fellow driving an old Honda motorcycle, the kind with the boxy gas tank and the straight, wide handlebars. It had a 350-450 c.c. engine, I think. It looked cool. That is what I want now for tooling around town. An old, square bike.
I have left the gym for the time being. I am taking long walks and running exercise courses and stadium steps. I'm going back to yoga. I want to get skinny and ready for hiking. I want to hike all summer long. I have had enough of "Apple Picking" for awhile. Let me drink a milky Pernod on your elegant veranda. I want to swim in your waters. Let me breathe your clean air. I'll bring Trojans bearing strange gifts. We'll talk of culture and wildness.
Give this to me. Just let me have it for a brief moment. Let me have this for awhile.
Yay for you for heading West. I love the south west (though not so much in June). I just came back from a week at the famous Brimfield Flea Market.
ReplyDeleteWe had a tent in order to sell our wares. I have always gone as a shopper for a day-- this was my first time as a hawker for a week. I saw and heard many things. It was a good place for cameras and listening. People from all over the world traipsing through acres and acres of old, vintage, odd things to purchase. Some of our furniture is heading to Australia in a container, to Toronto into a hipster General Store inside a trendy new hotel.. etc. and so on.
I'm delivering my deposit for Tanzania today. I'm nervous.
I paid for a trip with my friend Brando to Tanzania once. He cheated me out of the entire amount. I never got to go. I had a woman veterinarian who was going to take me on safari with her once, but that fell apart because of my weakness for younger women. So. . . I am very envious. What sort of human hasn't breathed the air or seen the sunset in an African sky?

ReplyDeleteI have an important art Gallery in Aix en Provence , the french sunny country side , with young fresh inspirational old sights, who would LOVE to do a Full month Exposing the art THAT YOUR HIGHNESS allows to show, and they have a fully equipped Studio, for The Master Bill, if he just decides to : Sell the house , kill the cat ( or bring it with you ) , say F.... to the factory , and become a friend of an Arab terrorist, rapist, who spoil young girls ( mmm only red heads SSSssss), or..... simply take a month off buy a ticket and drop by ;) easier and less chocking ( PS: by the way on one hand I do not like the idea of killing the cat, on another hand as a terrorist respectable , i must write those things , important for notoriety;)
Well. . . I am not selling the house or killing the cat nor coming over for a month (maybe two weeks is possible), but I'd be glad to send them some prints if they would like to show them. I spent time with an old girlfriend whose family were very wealthy in Aix. The stories from that trip are epic. Beautiful places, good food.
