I've sent no cards this year, the first time in many that I have not had time to get that done, but there are still presents to be bought, drinks to be drunk, etc. And since my mother will be home, there is Christmas dinner to think about.
So with the holiday break, I begin to work with the new 8x10 camera and Impossible film. I am beginning to think that it really is impossible, too. I am finding it very difficult to work with, and very expensive. I made four images to get two today, and that has been my best day. So if I stay as good as I am right now, each picture should only cost me around $40. That's just too darn much.
This is one of the models I work with often enough. She is a wonderful opera singer, a dancer, and an equestrian. She's been busy, I'd guess. I'm beginning to learn to use the big camera. A bit more practice yet. But this is the start of my take on Irving Penn's fabulous "Small Trades." We'll see.
Now, since the world did not end, I guess I will have to start the new diet. Man. . . it's always something.
