The Shrinking World

"Really?"

"Who knows.  I like bizarre things.  I'm no beauty photographer."

It has rained all week.  Today should be the end of it for awhile.  I'm not complaining.  It has been perfect for my new yard.  Everything is green and thick and luscious.  Already the trees and bushes of the neighborhood are growing visibly.  There is less empty space.  The sky gets smaller.  The world closes off.  There is only green.

Today I will pick up the roll of film from the toy camera I took to be developed.  We'll see what that looks like.  I have arranged to use a darkroom next week so I can test out the new litho film with the big cameras, too.  And I am borrowing another photographer's medium format camera that has a Polaroid back on it so that I can shoot some Polaroid film I bought years ago.  I ordered boxes and boxes of the wrong positive/negative film, film for which I didn't have a camera.  I want to shoot it up now.  On second thought, though, maybe I'll go on eBay to see what it is selling for.  It could be a lot.

I have some day trips coming up before my New Mexico trip, so I will be forced to make photography outside.  Expect scanned film images forthcoming.  Trees. Bushes. Park benches.  Shapes and light.  Oooooo. . . .  Exciting.

I like the goofiness of today's photograph, though.  It is something.
