I'm getting to this late today. People have lots to say about the Cornell thing. I won't say who. . . but it is a real ongoing concern. I'll give you part of the takeaway--I have never liked fraternities. They are like cults. You'd best think what the group thinks and be very, very loyal.
That's my generalization for the day. I get one, right?
It's now Camille Paglia vs. the Mullahs. How do we keep women "safe"?
Men are dangerous, there is little question about that. And when they are rebuffed they become Vladimir Putin. The little man is now threatening the west with nuclear war if he doesn't get his way. What to do? Do we just lift our kimonas, or do we fight?
As I've said so often this year, someone will drop "the big one" soon. There are too many nukes in the world for all for all of them to lay dormant. I've thought it would be that rapist Trump, but maybe it will be that evil little fellow in Russia who does it first. Will Western Europe just roll over, lie there, and take the assault?
Sure they will. What choice do the weak have?
Oh, sure, one can put up the heroic but useless fight.
We live in dangerous times, and now, for all the moaning, faced with the possibility of permanent destruction, people begin to see how much they love their meager existences, their comfortable habits and homes. Their cars and tvs and take-out dinners.
Who wants to challenge the aggressor?
It's a hell of a time to be young. But you know, they are the ones least tied to the way things are. They want change. They want a different world.
If you believe the "fake news."
Wow. Now there is a ramble.
"What in the hell are you saying?"
I'm trying hard not to say much. I'll let you all discuss this among yourselves. I have many troubles so much closer to home to take care of.
Let's change the subject. How about the weather?
No, no, that's no good.
Sports?
Here's something. I just got a text from a film professor who is shooting a scene today.
I am filming a scene from the film Closer today. The scene features a Photograph. We don’t have a photograph. The photograph is supposed to be of strangers photographed beautiful. Any chance you want to bring a photograph or three up to Fullsail and have your work featured in the scene?
Indeed, not. I have some NYC street scenes that are printed 32"x24" that would work, but I can't get them to him today. I have to take my mother to a cardiology appointment in the middle of the day. No time to go to my house, retrieve them, then drive them out to him.
Bummer. There goes my moment in cinema.
Such is my life.
Friday. The weather is dull. Rain is in the offing, so they say. It will last through the weekend. Don't know what to do, really. Perhaps I'll get a pizza for me and ma tonight. There's something. A real celebration.
I'll not bitch. It beats living in a nuclear wasteland, doesn't it?
